Many people may be wary of taking the jump from the incandescent bulb or CFLs to LEDs due to doubt that LEDs are just the latest “green trend” not to mention their cost. Consumers were told a few years back, CFL bulbs would help the environment, and now it’s the LED bulb being worshipped as the next best thing. LEDs are solid contained units that don’t have any mercury, while CFLs were fragile, mercury heavy and had to be disposed as hazardous waste. In 2013 LEDs finally created practicable options for consumers creating more reasons to switch that are not purely based on energy savings.
